Did I mention I love leather?

Although it is a good 110 degrees outside in my sunny state, this Nordstrom Sale has got me thinking
colder days.

Leather does not mean it has to be black.
I am in love with this tan leather Truth&Pride shirt.

My favorite hat (I have been searching for one for months), my favorite sunnies, my favorite lipstick and my
ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOTIES
combo with all that leather...
makes this my favorite (Rachel Zoe-esque) look.

LEATHER-esque

July 28, 2013

This year it is all about the leather.
Leather is not just for the women on the back of a Harley, it is for the sophisticated, the sassy, the stylish, and even the stay at home mom,
from the 9-5er or the late nighter.
Leather has a look for everyone.
Leather can be as simple as adding a white tee and as complicated as a high heel.
Make it your look, just make sure you're looking at it.

Here are my favorite leather pieces in every category needed...

This week has been one of those weeks.
I. WANT. EVERYTHING.

1. This free people jacket is AMAZING on, great with dresses or a white t and colored denim.

2. I never wear on pieces, but this Lolli swimsuit is just too good to pass up. I love the cutouts!

3. I admit I already own one pair of Jeffrey Campbell booties in black that are similar but they are that good, I'd take them all...in every color.

4. I have been LOVING Rag and Bone lately, love the fact that their denim is long enough for this girl.

5. Phillip Lim gets me when it comes to bags. How unreal is this 31 hour bag? LOVING the two-tone.

6. J Brand shorts that are long enough, sold. Not to mention on sale, summer is FAR from over in AZ.

7. This is perfect for me, plus there isn't a grey t shirt out there that I can pass up.

STYLING 101

July 23, 2013

In my eyes, style is all an opinion.
One may think overalls is style, while another may think maxi skirts and a cotton tee is style.
There is not right or wrong when it comes to style.
(although I personally may not agree, is not the end all, be all.)

I wanted to share my tips for styling.
The basics, the 5 things to remember when putting together a "look" for a photo shoot or event.

1. Ask Questions- The most important thing when styling is to make sure everyone is not a "mini me". Just because you may look good in one thing does not mean it's right for everyone. Figure out what the lifestyle is.

2. Choose ONE bold piece- Too many "statements" can leave a cluster of an outfit.

3. Do not be matchy matchy- Red shoes, red bag and red lips is not a good look. When in doubt keep it neutral, all neutrals match themselves and color.

4. Acknowledge different body types and age- Figure out how to incorporate the trends that best fit the body type and age. Be tactful but show the personality of the person.

5. Tell the truth- If you are not honest someone will be later. Be honest but tactful, supportive but directive. You must be the expert.

Here are some of my favorite "looks" in my world of style...

BLOG to BLOG

July 22, 2013

Styling is my ultimate love.
I want to be the next Monica Rose.
(or more main stream, the next Rachel Zoe)
I want to style everyone from my husband to the Kardashians.

If I could spend all day styling beautiful people, at beautiful locations with amazing photographers...
I'd die.

A few months I was asked by the girls from The Beauty Mark to style their photo shoot for their blog.
(a must read, check it out HERE)

They were fun, easy going and awesome to work with.
They were an easy canvas because of their already gorgeous selves and their amazing talents of both
HAIR&MAKE UP.
They offer amazing tips on all things beauty at thebeautymarkgirls.com

We were wanting three very different looks that captured their free spirited selfs.
I love how each look turned out.

ALOHA KAUI

July 19, 2013

A L O H A KAUI
for our last two days in Hawaii Zack and I flew to Kaui to meet up with his mom and little sister.

Kaui is every bit as beautiful as they say, but better.
This island gives you the real island feel.
Jungles to your left and clear water beaches to your right.

We spent the first day enjoying the beaches, hiking to water falls, rope swinging, and enjoying the nightly rain.
It is unreal.
The island, the weather, the water, the greenery.
Its a dream.

 The second day in Kaui
(our final day in Hawaii)
was spent snorkeling.
Did I mention I am obsessed?
I snorkeled for hours and hours and hours alone.

In our final hours I FINALLY understood the love for shaved ice on the island.

Saying "ALOHA" to Hawaii was the easiest and hardest thing for me to do.
{seeing as it means Hello, and Goodbye.}
If you've been there you can understand my struggle...
if you have not. well, sell your
house
cars
kids
clothes
phones
shoes
whatever it takes to get there.
You will NOT regret it.
It surpassed all dreams, and I will go back. like now.
{at least I get to take that guy, everyones been raving about on my insta, home with me}
